I. Visits / Excursions:

1 Faculty members and Student Teachers of WMCE visited an exhibition of the paintings of (Late) Shri Jamnadas H. Umra at Ipcowala Santram College of fine Arts, Vallabh Vidyanagar on 28th July 2009.
2 Teacher Educators along with student-teachers went to Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya to attend the Late Bhaikakaka Memorial Lecture series. Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Member of Planning Commission delivered the lecture on 'Comparative Analysis between Sardar Patel and Dr. B R Ambedkar on 14th December 2009.

II. Other Activities:

2 Researcher's forum held on 4th April, 2009. Ms. Rucha Desai faculty of Mathematics of WMCE presented the Ph. D. proposal on "Designing, Developing and Implementing an Educational Programme on Child Rights".
3 Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended a National Conference on "Renewing Teacher Education: Towards a Policy Initiative" organized by NCTE at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi during April 29-30, 2009.
4 Dr. Bharti Rathore was the part of the Interview Panel at V C Patel English Medium School, V. V. Nagar on 4th June, 2009.
5 NCTE Committee visited the college for inspection to grant permission for M Ed course on 9th June, 2009.
6 Four student teachers Mr. Kaushik Trivedi, Ms. Ronak Vasava, Ms. Pratima Chaudhri and Ms. Krupa Patel participated in the National Integration Youth Harmony Run 2009 - 10 organized by Youth Wing of Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation & Prajapita Braham Kumari Ishwariya Vishva Vidyalaya on 27th June 2009.
7 Peer Council was formed on 6th July, 2009 and Mr. Rahulkumar Panchal was elected as a General Secretary and Mr. Nihar Parmar as Deputy General Secretary of the College.
8 Dr. Sulabha Natraj, Principal WMCE delivered a Keynote address in the National Seminar on Human Rights and Women Empowerment organized by College of Education, Dhule, Maharashtra and Sponsored by UGC, New Delhi on 26th & 27th July 2009.
9 A presentation on 'Human Rights and Women Empowerment' was made on 1st August 2009 by Dr. Sulabha Natraj as part of Faculty Development Initiative.
10 Ms. Varsha Thaker and two student-teachers Ms. Kritika Solanki & Ms. Pinal Parekh attended SPIC MACAY concert and a plennary session at B A College of Agriculture, Anand on 1st and 2nd, August 2009.
11 Dr. R P Jadeja and Dr. Sulabha Natraj served as resource persons at an orientation programme for school teachers at H M Patel English Medium School, Dharmaj on 15th September 2009.
12 Researcher's forum held on 16th September 2009. Ms. Dipalee Mahida faculty of English of M B Patel College of Education presented her Ph. D. work on "Educational Leadership as emerging from the interpretation of auto/biographies of selected leaders".
13 One day orientation programme for Mentors from H M Patel English Medium School, Dharmaj was held at Waymade on 21st September, 2009. Faculty members of Waymade College and HMPIETR worked as resource persons.
14 Dr. Bharti Rathore was one of the judges at an Inter School Poetry Recitation Competition at I B Patel Primary School Vallabh Vidyanagar on 23rd September 2009.
15 Dr. Sulabha Natraj inspected 3 colleges of Education in Madhya Pradesh as a visiting team member for WRC Bhopal from 24th to 27th September 2009.
16 Dr. Sulabha Natraj along with the heads of CVM institutions and heads of Sardar Patel University paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Nation and Late Honorable Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on 2nd October 2009.
17 Women Development Cell organized a show of a documentary film on women foeticide entitled 'Nari Nari ko Bachao' for the community women of Ambikavas and Mahivas on 28th October 2009.
18 Women Development Cell under the guidance of Dr. Bharti Rathore organized an event, Collage Preparation by the peer group members on "Women of Substance" from 7th November onwards.
19 Women Development Cell organized a show of a film entitled 'Chak De' for the community women of Ambikavas and Mahivas on 6th November 2009.
20 A Teaching Aids Exhibition was held on 16th November 2009. Around 1200 visitors visited from different schools and colleges in and around Vallabh Vidyanagar. Mr. Rohit Valand and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan coordinated the event.
21 Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted a session on Communication Skills for lecturers of Engineering Colleges managed by the Charutar Vidya Mandal at the CDC, Vallabh Vidyanagar on 7th December 2009. 22 lecturers from 4 engineering colleges attended the session.
22 Ms. Shamsha Emanuel conducted a session on 'Modern Teaching Learning Methods and New Trends' for lecturers of B & B Polytechnic College, Vallabh Vidyanagar on 8th December.
23 Ms. Varsha Thaker delivered a lecture on "Recent Advances in Teaching Learning Methodology" to the lecturers of various technical institutions of Gujarat. The programme was organized by BBIT on 7th December 2009.
24 Content Enrichment Course in Sanskrit language was started for the students of Sanskrit Method by Mr. Rohit Valand from 16th December 2009.
25 Ms. Varsha Thaker delivered a lecture on 'Paradigm shift in Education in 21st Century in Social Sciences' at Bhavans School, Nadiad on 29th December, 2009.
26 Dr. Sulabha Natraj contributed as one of the coordinators at an International Conference on 'Theatre: Indian Theatre: Criticism and Writings: National and International Perspectives' from 6th to 8th January 2010. 168 participants from 22 different countries participated in the event.
27 Open Book Examination (OBEX) held on 30th and 31st December 2009.
28 Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended one-day discussion meet organized by the Charutar Vidya Mandal on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) on 11th January 2010. Ms. Jayanti Ravi Commissioner of Higher Education was the resource person. Over 100 Heads of various institutions affiliated to Sardar patel University attended the meet.
29 Eleven Student Teachers participated in the Peace Walk organized by Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishva Vidyalaya on 12th January 2010.
30 The faculty members modified the B.Ed. Advanced syllabus and placed before some experts for review. Prof. Mahesh Yagnik, Head, Dept. of Education, Sardar Patel University and Prin. M N Nimbalkar (NAAC member) provided inputs on 13th January.
31 Dr. Sulabha Natraj was the Chief Guest at the Annual meet of 'Vichar Valonu (Churning of Thoughts)' a chapter of 'Manav Vikas Kendra' an NGO at Vallabh Vidyanagar, on 17th January 2010. The event was attended by about 100 members across the state. The theme of the talk was 'Developing a Reading Society'.
32 Dr. Sulabha Natraj along with 3 other representatives of CVM institutions attended a session on Choice Based Credit System at IGNOU, New Delhi. The team also visited the National Institute for Open Schooling, Noida and had an interactive session with the faculty there on 22nd and 23rd January 2010.
33 Dr. Sulabha Natraj and Dr. Bharti Rathore attended the meeting of Board of Studies at the S. P. Univerity on 23rd January 2010.
34 Mr. Rohit Valand coordinated translation of Introductory book on Children's University Initiated by Government of Gujarat during the month of January.
35 Mr. Rohit Valand and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan coordinated Jammu University and Intel Education Joint contest 2009-2010 for innovative use of technology in education and sent entries of 22 student-teachers of the college.
36 Mr. Rohit Valand, Mr. Rakesh Ranjan and Ms. Shamsha Emanuel participated in Teacher Educators category in the contest organized by Jammu University and Intel Education on innovative use of technology in Education.
37 Researchers' forum was held on 23rd January 2010. Ms. Shamsha Emanuel faculty member of WMCE presented her Ph. D. proposal.
38 Mr. Rakesh Ranjan interacted on Educational Issues with the principal, Mr. M. D. Hallani, and students of Commerce of Tolani Commerce College, Adipur.

4 Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended a gathering wherein Her Excellency Honorable President of India Pratibha Patil inaugurated the Sardar Memorial at Ahmedabad on 1st October 2009. All the principals and the Secretaries of CVM attended the programme.
5 Three Staff member Mr. Chirag Darji, Mr. Keval Thaker, Mr. Bhavin Prajapati and five student-teachers, Ms. Pinal, Ms. Hiral, Mr. Nilkanth, Mr. Ashish and Mr. Minesh participated in the Survey on 'Impact of Epedimic (Swine Flue)' conducted by Karamsad Medical College and Hospital in the month of October, 2009.
6 One student-teacher Mr. Santosh Kumar Mishra attended the National Seminar on "Quality Improvement at School Level" organized by Shree Sarvodaya Shikshan Mandal Sanchalit B Ed College, Surat on 7th and 8th November 2009.
7 Dr. Sulabha Natraj attended 3rd policy dialogue: an international conference organized by the British Council, at New Delhi from 18th to 20th November 2009. Over hundred delegates from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Philippines, Europe and India attended it.
8 Mr. Rohit Valand participated in the state level workshop on "Manuscriptology" organized by the Department of Sanskrit, The M S University of Baroda on 30th November 2009.
9 Mr. Santosh Kumar Mishra, a student-teacher, attended the grand HR convention based on the theme "Role of HR in Globalisation" organized by Department of Social Work, Sarda Patel University under MHRM programme on 13th December, 2009.

I. Visits / Excursions:

2 Dr. Sulabha Natraj served as a resource person at a workshop on "Information Transfer for Secondary Teachers of Vadodara District" at Vakal Vidyalay, Bajwa on 22nd August 2009.
3 A workshop on drama was held at WMCE by Prof. Navnit Chauhan, P G Department of Hindi, Sardar Patel University from 26th to 29th August, 2009.
4 One-day workshop on 'Innovative Classroom Practices' for school teachers was held on 8th September 2009. There were 33 Participants from 13 Institutions. Dr. Sulabha Natraj, Dr. Bharti Rathore, Mr. Rohit Valand, Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Ms. Varsha Thaker, Ms. Shamsha Emanuel, Ms. Sarika Chauhan and Mr. Chirag Darji were the resource persons. Mr. Rohit Valand and Mr. Rakesh Ranjan were the coordinators of the event.
5 Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted a workshop for lecturers of Englsih Method at the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University on 11th October 2009.
6 One-day workshop on "The Role of Principal in the College of Education for Technology Enhancement" was undertaken by Mr. Dharmesh Acharya, National Trainer, Intel, organized at the college on 5th November 2009.
7 A training programme on "SPSS" by Mr. Kiran Chauhan, Lecturer, H M Patel Institute of English Training and Research was organized on 7th November 2009 as part of Faculty Development Initiative.
8 One-day workshop on "Effective use of Pedagogy Focused ICT in Education" by Mr. Dharmesh Acharya, National Trainer, Intel was organized at the college on 18th November, 2009.
9 Dr. Sulabha Natraj conducted a workshop on participatory classroom practices for teachers of Vidya Niketan School at Pondicherry on 4th and 5th December. 37 teachers attended the workshop.
10 Ms. Shamsha Emanuel and Ms. Sarika Chauhan conducted a workshop for school-teachers on inquiry based learning on 16th December 2009.
11 A training programme on "First Aid" by Dr. Birendra Singh, Medical Officer, PHC-Navli and Dr. Amit Mohan, MD, Pesident, Pramukh Swami Medical College, Karmasad, was organized on 17th December.
12 Dr. Sulabha Natraj and Ms. Varsha Thaker conducted a workshop for teachers from various schools run by the Bhavan's foundation Narsanda, Gujarat on 29th December 2009. The theme of the workshop was "Participatary Classroom Approaches."
13 Dr. Sulbha Natraj conducted one-day workshop on "Teaching Reading" for teachers of English Medium schools of Charutar Vidya Mandal on 31st December 2009.
14 Dr. Sulabha Natraj facilitated preparation of language building activities of school-teachers from the tribal areas of Gujarat. The programme was conducted by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat on 5th January 2010. 139 participations from different tribal schools of Gujarat attended the programme.
15 Dr. Sulabha Natraj and Dr. Bharti Rathore were the resource persons at the workshop on 'Teaching Poetry' at Amity School, Bharuch on 19th February 2010. The workshop was organized for the teachers of English of Gujarati Medium Schools.

X. Competitions At WMCE:

2 Four Student Teachers Mr. Kaushik Trivedi, Ms. Nidhi Trivedi, Mr. Ishan Pandya & Mr. Nihar Parmar participated in the Poster making competition on world population Day Celebrations - 2009 organized by C C Patel Community Science Centre, SPU & N H Patel College of Education, Anand on 27th July.
3 Patriotic Song competition was held amongst the Peer Groups of WMCE on 5th September, 2009. First Position- Peer Group 9 and 10, Second Position- Peer Group 7 and 8, Third Position- 13 and 14.
4 As part of Teacher's Day celebrations different educational competitions held on 5th September, 2009 at WMCE.
5 Two Student Teachers, Ms. Prita Pandya and Mr. Ishan Pandya participated in a debate competition on 8th September 2009 at M. B. Patel College of Education, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
6 Mr. Nihar Parmar, a student-teacher, participated in an elocution competition on 'The role of the Teacher in the Era of Privatization of Education' at Anand Law College on 5th September 2009.
7 Rangoli Competition was held among the student-teachers of WMCE on 7th September 2009. First Position was secured by: Sweety, Avruti, Manjula, Maitri, Nirupama, Sheetal, Anupama, Kamlesh J. Second Position was secrured by: Bhavini, Reena, Minal, Smita. Third Position was secured by: Vijay, Sunil, Divya C., Priti, Jayveer.
8 Mr. Mayur, a student-teacher, participated in an essay writing competition on 10th September 2009 at Smt. P. K. Inamdar College of Education.
9 Navratri was celebrated at our College on 17th September 2009. Student-teachers decked in traditional attire participated enthusiastically in the Garbha Competition. Best Dress Competition winner- Ms. Chaula and Mr. Ishan Best dance performace (Garba) winner- Ms. Prita and Mr. Kamlesh Joshi.
10 Ms. Prita and Ms. Arpita, student-teachers, participated in a debate competition at N. H. Patel College of Education Organised by JCI MILK CITY, Anand.
11 Sports day was organised on 19th December 2009. All the student-teachers took part in this with great vigour and energy. They participated in various In-door and Outdoor events.
12 Mr. Shailesh Navdiya, a student-teacher, participated in an essay and Hiku writing competition at N H Patel College of Education, Anand on 4th January 2010.
13 Twelve Student Teachers participated in the Volleyball Tournament organized by Young Men's Christian Association, Anand on 9th January 2010.
14 On the eve of Makar Sankranti, a Kite making competition was held at the college on 13th January 2010.
15 Mr. Kamlesh Joshi, Mr. Akash Thakkar, Mr. Ishan Pandya and Mr. Pratik Darji participated in the Patriotic Song Competition (Group) and Mr. Ishan Pandya participated in the Solo competition at N. S. Patel Arts College on 26th January, 2010.
16 WMCE organised a State level Competition on "Best Integration of Technology in Classroom" for the student-teachers of the colleges of Education on 2nd and 3rd February 2010 as part of Swarnim Gujarat Celebration. Mr. Rakesh Ranjan coordinated the event.

XI. Celebrations At WMCE:

1 The student-teachers of the college celebrated 'Guru Poornima' on the 7th July 2009. Many student-teachers described their experiences related to the glory of teachers. They also offered bouquet of flowers to all their teachers as a token of their heart-felt reverence and love for their teachers.
2 Creative Singing event held on 1st August 2009.
3 The college celebrated 15th August, the Independence Day of India.
4 As part of Teacher's Day celebrations different educational competitions were held on 5th September 2009.
5 Value fortnight was celebrated from 16th November 2009 onwards. In this student-teachers from various peer groups presented post prayer talks, power point presentations, stories and skits related with the values selected by their respective groups. Purpose was to sensitize other student-teachers about values like honesty, unity and cooperation.
6 Swami Vivekanand's Birth Anniversary and National Youth Day were celebrated at the college on 12th January 2010. Mr. Chirag Darji delivered a lecture on the occasion.
7 Makar Sankranti was celebrated at the college on 13th January 2010.
8 WMCE celebrated the 61st Republic day.

XII. Achievements:

2 Three student-teachers, Ms. Maitri Thakkar, Ms. Reena Shah and Mr. Ishan Pandya participated in a patriotic song competition organized by N H Patel College of Education, Anand on 7th January 2010. Ms. Maitri Thakkar won the 2nd Prize.
3 Ms. Prita Pandya and Ms. Arpita Bhatt, student-teachers, won the 3rd prize in the debate competition on "Bringing up the Children is an Hurdle in the Professional Development of Women" organized by Anand Education College on 12th January 2010.
4 Mr. Akash Thakkar secured the second position in the state level competition on 'Best Integration of Technology in the Classroom' for the student teachers of the colleges of Education organized by WMCE on 2nd and 3rd February, 2010.
5 The annual examination results of students of B.Ed. programme 2009-10: First Class with Distinction: 79 First Class : 19 Second Class : 02 100% Result
6 Ms. Anju Sathyan topped the Waymade list with 91.65% and was awarded Dr. C L Patel Anupam Gold Medal.
