Here is what our Alumni say.
Completion of the course does not imply end of association beetween the trainees and their alma mater. Conscious efforts are made by all and sundry to keep the link alive. Apart from placements, the college has been extending help to students while on job, as well. The alumni of the College have been communicating with the College even before formal formation of the association viz. Waymade Alumni Association(WAA). With a view to providing constant spport and encouragement to the alumni at work, evenmore importantly in order to gain from their views and to create healthy academic network the association was formed in academic year 2006 - 07. The idea of forming an Association of the Alumni has been mooted right from the beginning and the students have responded to it enthusiastically. All the students of the first two batches are members.
Waymakers working at various schools and colleges gathered at the college for revitalizing themselves! The alumni of the past two years visited the college and interacted with the present batch. They shared their views and expreriences and motivated the present batch; providing them essential insights in to the challenges in schools and nostalgically narrated their experiencesat Waymade. The alumni viewed the Teaching Learning Materials for various subjects that were prepared by the current batch. The major objective of the Alumni Association is to keep a track of career development of the students passing out from this college and providing the necessary support in their progress. A large number of past students are invited for the training programe conducted by this college on the 5th September each year. They are also active in their interaction with the current batch of students.
Contitutions
Waymade Alumni Association (WAA)
Constitution
The college believes in transparent and democratic leadership. The student council is one of the practices through which the above said goal is realized. The major objective of forming the council is to make the system democratic and open to all. The Student Council follows the hierarchy in which the Principal is the president of the council, Student counsellor as the vice-president then comes General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary followed by Peer counsellors, peer leaders and peers. The whole group of students is randomly divided into peer groups under peer counsellors. Peer counsellors are teacher educators of the college with whose guidance peer group students perform their work during their stay at the college. The present intake of B.Ed. Advanced is of 50 students. Therefore there are 8-10 students in one peer group. The selection of General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary is through democratic mode, i.e., election by peers based on their overall performance. Each peer group selects two values to be followed by them and also for other group activities. Peers can share their problems with peer leaders which then are followed up during peer council meeting for the immediate action.
Students are the heart of any institution. They carry the essence of an institution where they study and also try to revive it whenever it is possible returning to the same institute. The College always welcomes these students and helps them in their professional and personal progress. Therefore, the college has an alumni association, Waymade Alumni Association (WAA) wherein students of the foregone batches meet the students of the current year for interaction and mutual help. Workshops are organised for the alumni. At times, they are also invited to participate, even contribute, to the programmes at the college. The WAA has helped numerous students to get good placement, as well. The alumni have been showing readiness to come to the college for any event we call for. It has strengthened their bond with the institution.
